The large shoulder-fins have a pretty interesting set-up. While the fins themselves are plastic, they're attached to a metal frame that plugs into spots on the shoulders and back, so they're securely fixed in place. They don't get in the way though, as the smaller fins that are actually attached to the shoulder have tons of range so you can easily keep them out of the way. It can be difficult, however, to keep the smaller fins lined up with the big fins. But, it's a pretty neat set-up considering the big fins are also intended to carry tons of weapons.
