>>9887872>My guess was always that Todd had no idea what the word meant, just that is sounded foreign and exotic and people were getting into these newfangled Japanesey "Mangas" so he called some Japanese inspired figures that, not really knowing what it meant.Of course Todd knew what manga is; he was ripping off pages of Akira back in the 80's, before the anime came out.
My take is that so much of Spawn figures advertised them having comic level detail, he called them manga figures to indicate they were stylized like Japan's equivalent.
