>>7893154Eh I will stand by the approach of case by case basis without straightly ruling out anything regardless of shape and/or elements present. I wanted to try post color modulation with hand brushing acrylics and oils plus using it as a base for further weathering as the vehicle I wanted to do is covered in sand so I just went for it in pic related to try.
ERA blocks et alters are just to be painted the same way but one by one or in batches after the main armor job, nothing special about it but one should consider if it would be faster with an airbrush on the painting stage tho.
For me color modulation is more about getting a dramatic volume that needs to pop out below the weathering, if I don’t feel like it needs it for what I want to achieve it’s obviously not mandatory to do, same goes for any techniques that brainlets just go through like some kind of checklist in their mediocre work as an ode to following blindly the, bastardized by now, tutorials with their brains off.
Not saying that what you said or your approach is wrong but people tend to just write off products/techniques for specific uses instead of thinking a bit for themselves and trying stuff (that might work or not) which lead to the general present mind numbing state of AFVs shown around online
