I can’t think of any examples in which I wanted a kit and then went for the dirt cheap option. I’ve bought cheaper kits, but never gotten scared of by say the 30 bucks price tag on a tamiya kit and then tracked down a kit from the 60s or something because it’s like 5 bucks. All of my old and crap kits I own are the result of gifts or seeing a kit going for either like a quarter of what it should or the subject was so weird I was willing to accept subpar molds. That’s one of the main reasons i own so many RPM kits despite them being a bit shit they go for like 10 bucks max and are always of weird shit.
