They were kinda loose, and I didn't even have to pull on them that much for them to pop off. Washed the gel out with no issues and dressed her in her second outfit.
My guess is that either there's an issue with some of the purple dolls or maybe they realized there was a hand problem in general, and fixed it midway through production. I'm going to see if I can swap the purple one in the future when they aren't so hard to find in stores.
