These were made back in the 1/6 scale Joe's heyday. From the late 90's to early 2000's. Lots of important and brave people were made. Famous guys like John F. Kennedy, Patton, Teddy Roosevelt, and Washington. And also some not-so famous guys like Francis Pierce, John Fox, and Mitchell Paige. All Medal of Honor recipients.
Take good Ol' Ernie Pyle here. He's an old guy that most kids never heard of. No cool gun. Just a typewriter. And Hasbro had the balls to sell him at brick n' mortar stores for $20. All the Historical Collection figures were available for kids to buy at stores. Not web exclusive, and not under a "adult collectors" label, which Matty is doing with their "Sheroes" line.
It's like Hasbro cared more about introducing boys to real-life role models from our past than Matty cares about introducing girls to whatever pretty faced woman makes headlines today.
