This is not an inherent property of small-scale fabric, it's only because they stupidly used pleather for his vest, which is not a good idea in ANY scale, it decays in 1/6 and IRL human-sized clothes too. Or like, those cheap computer chairs that flake everywhere after a year.
If you really can't get over that mental hurdle, fine, here's another example of nice non-pleather 1/12 cloth goods. I have been collecting 1/12 soft goods for like 20 years, none of them have any signs of degradation except the pleather stuff.
