>>8723524So it's been a while.
And now I'm close to finish my Shit Kit (tm) project - Amodel Yak-15, started in the previous thread.
Pure blood, sweat and tears. Half a centimetre gaps between parts. Every joint requires tons of putty, same for restoring parts proper (=at least somewhat good looking) geometry (fucked up molds).
Had to remade all the panel lines (screwed up a little but mostly ok) and imitate rivets on metal panels (did on wings, first time ever, screwed up big time they are not parallel enough, decided not to do on fuselage, glad it is barely visible), scratch-built radios behind the cockpit seat and gunsight, added hydraulic pipes in gear bay, radio antennas and replaced pitot tube and cannons with metal tubes (actually guns from 1:350 and 1:700 ships, sorry navy modelers). Was a bit too early to glue them, tore off antennas during painting but that's ok.
But hey.
This masochism gives me a strange kind of pleasure, something you never get from easy fit kits. That feel of accomplishment that you get after turning this piece of plastic shit into a masterpiece. Or I am simply a pervert.
P.S. Should have bought HB or Zvezda Yak-3 and cannibalize it for parts, Yak-15 wings and tail are identical.
