I personally stopped buying comics, toys, and reading books just to spend more time and money on shit that was actually popular with the kewl kids in HS.
Didn't get back into my nerdy shit until the mid-00s. So i actually didn't really follow what was selling with Attack of the Clones. By the time Revenge of the Sith came out (or got announced), an ex was buying me RotS toys and GI Joes, which got me into buying toys again.
