>>8758411Boring people with no talent or personality tend to latch onto media properties and build their entire selves around it. You see it with things like Marvel, politics, movies, toy lines, etc. When you have literally nothing in your life outside of worshipping and consuming this thing, or the thing that you like starts to decline, your entire self worth starts collapsing. Therefore it is much easier to attack people attempting to point out that you have made a mistake in building your life around this thing, and you have hundreds, if not thousands of people equally boring and obsessed as you are to validate you for refusing to use your brain.
It's always been a problem but the internet has made it 10000x worse. And I'd at least greatly take weird constantly negative leaning people who can recognize good and bad things in their hobbies than dudes who will forgive and ignore everything bad and attack those who criticize it.
Like compare TFW to here, there you'll get banned for trying to discuss certain toys or not sucking off hastak, whereas here you'll only get banned if the janny is awake and you're posting as brielarsonfan about nothing of value.
