He didn’t end up just the oldest cybertronian (living or dead), he was literally the oldest living thing in that continuity’s entire universe* by a margin of at least several billion years. And then Visonaries killed him off like a bitch, due to corporate mandate. (Which is actually sort of what Visonaries did to the entire continuity, now that I think of it.)
*Barring weird shit in the Micronaughts series, that I never actually read, since it evidently also dabbled in some time travel and dilation shenanigans.
