>>8315228Not really. I don't like the shriveled texture of the MK Spawn's suit, the skinnier M logo on the chest, nor the look of the cape. MK shoulders are also not as beefy as I'd like. KS looks more heroic in its proportions, just looking at the raw sculpts. MK headsculpt is nice, perhaps even nicer than the KS, but not enough to be a problem.
Was never a fan of the gauntlets and boot, so the classic KS was an easy choice.
I collected McFarlane figures from the '90s and '00s, but the only detailed Classic Spawns in that time either had hideous joints and skinny anatomy (the 10th anniversary Spawn on cross) or had so-so headsculpts (the #7 cover Spawn). Yes, I remember the crouching Spawn, but I prefer to have one standing with a massive cape.
In a nutshell, this KS just happens to have the features I really like in one package. Never cared too much about articulation because once I pose a figure and shelf it, I rarely touch it again. And this particular design looks cooler in a contrapposto stance than anything else IMO.
Say what you will, I knew what I was getting and it happened to be what I wanted.
>>8315235I'll admit, the only way I'd be more excited for this is if it had no joints and stood 12" tall. Neither a statue nor a 12" figure seems to be in the cards at this point, the man hasn't done either in years.
As for the other 7" staction figures he's done, again, none of them quite ticked the boxes on my personal list.
