If the character can fly or do whatever in the lore its OK. for people to accuse me of not having imagination some sure are allergic to the idea of kids imagining the flying or transformations the character is undergoing.
This is why Man-E-Faces is a gimmick, they tried to get the best utilization of a mechanism and made a pseudo character around it.
Everything in his design is dictated by his mechanism and he is build around it.
And there is really no need for this mechanism in 99% of toys the only thing working like with I can see is the evil captain planet computer and make his CRT have changing faces. Hardly anything else the mechanism does not work for transforming characters because it is only a rotating head.
I see lot of MOTU fans do not know that the designers of the toys where basically creating them as a joke and laughing at the stupid kids while making them this is why they have stupid names like EVILin etc. This is on record.
Only after the cartoon was made they got shocked that their made up crap that they made as a joke at the expense of the kids was animated in a serious way.
