So I did some digging.That EPC symbol stands for "Electronic Product Code" which is a kind of type of product identifier, similar to UPC label. However, the EPC identifies each individual unit, not just the product in general. That label has an RFID tag underneath it,which you can see if you peel it off. Wal-Mart has adopted the EPC label system in a big way recently, so that's why you're seeing it everywhere in their stores.
