It's the most vocal group, but that mostly stems from the series being an 80s thing. If the series deviants just a little, like with the newest cartoon series, you get a bitchfest (and i personally was part of).
and i don't think it really looks like the nicktoons version. If anything, i'd say it's based on Juan Bobillo's art, who is also from South America.
Because of the similiarity and their region, their art style is probably influenced by some other South American artist who is popular down there.
