>>7058287I'll never get that feeling, because to me a primary reason I collect these figures is to customize, kitbash and see what new stuff I can do with them, but that's a little hard to do when everything is so expensive.
I really love 1/6 because if you want you can just buy a good articulated body, a head sculpt you like, and as many fitting, loose clothes you want to make a completely new figure kitbashing all sorts of parts. The idea is enticing but the reality is a fucking 1/6 scale shirt costs $20 loose on ebay and god forbid you try to get loose parts from Hot Toys or Sideshow figures where people charge $50 or $80 just for a helmet, and that doesn't include ridiculous shipping costs upwards of $10 for a single tiny 1/6 loose accessory..
So then you can try to at least buy a good 1/6 figure for less of the cost than all of that above, and kitbash parts together later when you get enough of them but like I said in the OP there is really no mid-range 1/6 figure companies anymore, so everything good is at minimum $150 or so.
I remember years back when Hot Toys starting raising their prices to ridiculous levels like $190 - $200 I knew other 1/6 companies who don't even do movie licensed shit will follow, just because Hot Toys and Sideshow were doing it, and sure enough they fucking did, now I'm worried the rising costs will make 1/6 collecting unaffordable for even more people leading to a total drop in sales, less figures being made, the only shit left being $260-300 movie license crap.
