>>9559555Fair enough of a point. I agree that there is DEFINITELY a hierarchy as far the films go, no doubt about that, but to say any of them are BAD, I suppose is a subjective thing. Most people hate '98, but I saw it in theaters as a kid and still love it for as campy and different as it is. I suppose it's different when an actual fan of Godzilla is expressing the opinion of it though. My closest friend asked if I like GvK, I said "I absolutely loved it. It was just what it needed to be." My opinion. His opinion afterwards was just "What are you talking about? It sucked and made absolutely no fucking sense. The Hollow Earth? Wtf was that about?"
He's neither a Godzilla fan, nor had he seen any of the other Monsterverse movies, so his opinion was discarded. Maybe it's my fault for assuming that people like that are a majority of people that criticize it, and not fans, so that's on me.
Gotta be those rose-tinted glasses, most likely.
