>>6532880Like the others have said, About a year-ish ago, Mattel rebooted Monster High to now have safe patterns, colors, and clothing styles, toned down same-ish faces, and similar personalities. The reason they'll give you is that they changed Monster High to fit the new generation of girls who will be buying Monster High, which is utter bullshit because even kids know what cheap toys look like. After they lost the Disney Princess line to Hasbro, they watered down Ever After High so now that's just as boring if not more and retconned Monster High G2 to be themed after "How do you boo?" The lines aren't creative anymore, they jumped on the gimmick boat, and they're just not worth it anymore.
The only things that would likely be worth it anymore would be the adult collector/exclusive dolls. Some of them suck (Abbey's new one) and some of them are fantastic quality (Cleo/Ghoulia axed SDCC 2-pack now for Mattel's online store)
tl;dr - Mattel got a little full of themselves, lost an important line, and dulled down their other lines to make up for it.
