Warranty isn't suppose to cover parts bought on the aftermarket like bricklink or ebay, just new purchases.
You don't even need to call them anymore, just do a replacement parts order online. I've done it twice, got a cracked minifigure torso assembly and a sticker sheet that was creased replaced.
