The actual DESIGN remains true to the comics, they just tweaked the proportions, like most artists tend to do. The armor design is comic based, the extra armory gimmicks are literally lifted from comic panels. The only difference is the way Larocca drew it in the images posted here. Other artists that have rendered the Bleeding Edge don't make the extra bits as exaggerated.
