seconding that the unicron trilogy has tons of that. animated also had it sometimes. unfortunately its not something that happens often these days, trying to think of a modern figure and the first thing that comes to mind is 2010 generations kup storing his rifle as an exhaust pipe which is hardly modern any more
i think that despite the way people reacted to it, the windblade that came out in legacy using its sword as an exhaust effect piece was actually really cool
umm... movie sideswipe actually does a cool thing where the side panels of his car mode flip around to become sweet blades in robot mode
