>>8486950People always say that but I think this is largely down to the hype surrounding that type of car + the prevalence of Fast & Furious sets which HEAVILY bolster the amount of imports you see in premiun lines; roughly half of any Japanese manufactured cars to date comes from these sets. Sets like Forza have a similar effect for European cars but to a lesser degree.
Hot Wheels collectors also have kind of a strange definition of what 'JDM' is, which makes it a *VERY* broad category as collectors mean it to be pretty much anything from a Japan based manufacturer. I wouldn't personally count a Nissan R35 GTR as JDM for example but I've included it in the category since most collectors likely *would*; same goes for the Subaru Impreza WRX which I would call a rally car. It's an incredibly broad category the way HW calls it.
I included stuff like the Mazda 787B and the Nissan Skyline Silhouette in the Le Mans category though, which includes cars and variants which were built specifically for racing. Gassers are included in the "customs" category.

- Car Culture
- Team Transport (excluding the haulers as it would skew the number of trucks)
- Boulevard
- Fast & Furious
- Entertainment (excluding movie specific vehicles such as the Batmobile)
- Pop Culture (only including 'logo' cars such as Nestle and Oil, as including 'poster' cars would heavily skew the number of vans)
- RLC
- mail-ins
- convention cars
