Reposting from old thread because I'm still up for feedback:
She's done. Airfix 1/72 Ju-87 B1, StG 51 that saw action in France.
Now with every horrible botched detail, including dust from just a several days, but that's underfloor heating for you.
So, first model after a five years hiatus after getting back into the hobby after a 20 years hiatus, I learned A LOT.
Also first time airbrushing.
From afar it looks decent, but I upon closer inspection and with me knowing all the mistakes I made it comes together for a shoddy whole. Defects on the canopy because I'm a gorilla (and next time I'll just get a commercial mask instead of going through the masking tape process again), paint flooding from masking mistakes (and learning to do a sealing coat with the base color) and some snapped thin pieces because that plastic is so incredibly soft and brittle (that's why I omitted the radio aerial; the fucking mast snapped TWICE, once after painting and decals).
At least I managed to glue the clear parts without any fogging or spilling whatsoever.
I also had to Rudel the legs of the pilot because he didn't quite fit in his seat. There were a bunch of those kind of fitting problems with this kit.
Also, I still have problems with the varnish. After weathering I sprayed a coat of Tamiya semi-gloss thinned 1:2 and it became kinda glossier than the actual gloss, so I did another coat of actual matte and now it's still kind of semi, but I just wanted to be done with it.
Speaking of the weathering, I totally botched that. I just wanted to make some slight scuffing from dirty boots, but now it looks like a cat jumped into a puddle of mud and then on the plane. The oil wash worked kinda better than the last time I tried though.
What I am proud of though is the machine guns which I made by cutting a needle into pieces and putting them into the holes I drilled into the original (bad) cast.
So, any hints for the future?
