I don't mind 8 wides, I often use 4 wide and 6 wide and it's fine. What I do mind is the height. These speed champions are ridiculously massive and they are nowhere near sleek sportscars.
This is my maximum size pattern I accpept. Large cars like SUVs and offroad should be max 4 brick tall + 2 plates for roof and floor.
Smaller cars should be lower. I generally do not accept anything that has main body line taller than 2 bricks. Speed Champions are sometimes really ridiculous. They have 3-brick tall fenders. It's really awful.
