It's the more traditional way of doing a double jointed elbow, and I am fine with it because the elbow being its own 'island' sort of fits with it being a hard bone that juts out. But I could also see them wanting to avoid it, or certain sculpts not being ideal for it (perhaps because of something on the forearm like his armor, blocking peg access)
