>>11374341fixing the gaps on the la15 proved easier than anticipated. i bought some plasticard for the large gap at the bottom of the fuselage and cooked up some sprue goo for the rest. the curved uninterrupted shape of the fuselage made sanding down again easy. the smaller gaps on the bf109 are much more difficult to fix without losing much of the detail due to their location on the model. rescribing panel lines is giving me a hard time too. i had to fill up a number of attempts again because i was not satisfied with the result. the tamiya scribe tool i bought specifically for this purpose has turned out to be completely useless. i tried using a small pocket knife, which worked better but it's difficult to get the depth right in one go and multiple cuts naturally become very messy. i have also doubts about brush painting the vallejo aluminium. the test piece turned out very messy. i'll try adding another coat but i already know it's not a color i will enjoy working with. i'm considering doing a what i suppose is a naval scheme with a dark blue upper fuselage and light grey lower fuselage. i'm starting to have a lot of respect for plane anons.
