Apparently even with purchasing the kit (which is cheaper than purchasing the parts yourself, due to savings from the kit providers buying in bulk) and then printing and assembling your own, it’s really not that much cheaper (like,less than $20-30 dollars cheaper, I think.)
Basically Official companies are mostly just saving a metric shit-ton on economies of scale, comparative speed and ease of injection molding over 3D printing, and the lower cost of foreign and automated labor.
