Take, for instance, the Caltoy Sonic from 1993. >pic related. He's based on the American interpretation of Sonic's design, which had his spikes shaped like a mohawk rather than bulky quills. Not really accurate to the character's current interpretation, but close enough to what was considered correct back then. He makes up for his odd 90's design with soft fabric and plain old adorableness. I mean, just look at him! That smile is precious! I've got one of these guys and he's a favorite for sure.
