56f is pretty chilly. Half of the year here in Queensland is like, 82f and 85% humidity minimum. The entire Southern hemisphere owns toys and they don't get too badly fucked.
A really easy way to feel confident about sanitizing plush is to chuck it out in the direct sunlight for no more than an hour, and try to rotate once or twice so direct light hits the entire surface. The UV will kill most things, even penetrating between fibers (certainly more efficiently than liquid or powder disinfectant.)
