The Rex's tail is very reminiscent of the Neca Godzilla 2014 tail that has the very obvious and very ugly breaks between its large section before transitioning into a bendy wire. The only way to achieve a greater ranch of motion without segmenting the tail more would be to do what was done with the raptors or what Mattel is doing with the HC Irritator and replace the whole tail with a bendy wire, which at least in my opinion is a far worse option. That being said, I get where you're coming from about breaking up the tail into segments, especially if you don't value articulation as much. I don't really collect statues, so I place a lot more weight on articulation and range of movement, but I can totally see why people in a hobby that is traditionally dominated by statues wouldn't care as much.
