>>7705185>why is it considered more pathetic to collect girls toys? they’re all for children.Well I guess there's the fact that most of the people who post here are male. Than there's the whole toy collecting hobby being more of a guy thing. Girls mature faster than guys, and they are in such a rush to grow up that they turn their backs on their childhood heros like Barbie in exchange for boys, makeup, and social statues. It's why when you think of a comic book nerd or a Star wars fan the first image the pops up in your mind is of a nerdy looking guy, and not a girl.
I've run into a few female store managers, and cashiers who went on rants about woman who come into "their store" to buy dolls for themselves. They seem so disgusted, and disturbed by it. They spoke as if they believed that female collectors are a perversion and are mentally ill or a threat to society, and shouldn't be allowed to exist. Both times they had no clue that I myself was a doll collector, and I wasn't about to tell them during their hateful rant. One that I can remember was an Irish lady at Toys R Us in her 30s. The other was a Cuban lady at the Goodwill in her 40s and was a single mom. It was a trip to listen to them let out so much pure hate.
