>>6667912I think it's because these promos were done on in some lightbox, with most if not all of the figures in the image actually physically there. Sure, maybe the background was edited in, but they made the old promos look like you could nust reach out and touch them, since they were all grounded and real. Nowadays, if the cover art just uses computer generated clipart of their sets that they click and drag into certain spots before pasting a background behind it. Nothing is actually there, nothing is real. It's like the difference between a practical effect and cgi. Oldschool Lego was truly best Lego.
