The explanation I was given was that because it's a paid event, many attendees have complained that they are paying a worthless entrance fee if everyone can just see everything via pictures on the internet. There was a fucking scene apparently last year at the event where some 30 people camped the the fucking exit refusing to leave.
A person was literally by every display booth getting in the way if you tried to take a picture if you didn't have special guest authorization.
Some other things that will never see pictures from this event include a special concept room that showed off a s.h. figuarts and monsterarts jointed body made of new material that covered the joints and looked like mini hot toys.
