It paid more homage to the old ToyBiz movie figure rather than an actual movie likeness. Previously in 2011, they released an all-black Batman repaint that also paid homage to the ToyBiz movie Batman.
Strange, seeing as how Mattel released a Batman Forever figure that looked liked Val Kilmer, but not a Keaton version. They also did a movie accurate Keaton in their DC Multiverse 1/18 line. But nothing in the main 1/12 line where it would have been guaranteed to sell gangbusters.
