Play Arts Kai Ichigo had somewhat similar knees. Though Bandai might do something completely different. I do see the logic in it for them in really trying to innovate as much with the engineering considering they can reuse it for so many characters. Basically for practically every shinigami-character and even Espada (if the line ever digs that deep)
