It is all preference of course but I actually think it looks better like this, it looks unfinished somehow without more paint that way....the G1 toy had more colors, if I were to strip him of his details I'd have to go through the trouble of adding custom paint to the more barren parts.
Soundwave in hand looks a lot cooler to me than I thought too, he definitely has had the worst of the whole line in terms of putting a shitload of it where you wouldn't want it, but once I had the figure I was fine with it.
