>>10910355>>10910357All right, you've got a point that there's a bunch of non-action figure related stuff being lumped into that 28 billion US toy sales. Looking at action figures specifically it's more like 2.5 billion in the US and 8 billion worldwide. For that it's harder to find an age breakdown that exclusively counts adults. The closest I could find was 15+, though it's worth noting that they're nearly half the action figure market at 45%. In that case, it's probably more like a billion dollars, at least exclusively in the US. Worldwide, we're probably looking at more like 2-3 billion. Essentially, if you take other toy types out of the equation, adults are an even bigger share of the action figure market than it would appear.
>Do they even make action figures anymore? They make some FNAF action figures, though I don't think much else.
>>10910381Yeah, originally the NPD group were counting kidults as 12 and up, because there's apparently a big drop off in toy interest after 11, but it was a bit dishonest. Looking specifically at 18+, though, it's a not unimpressive 14% and toy sales are growing faster for childless adults than actual children, so the market's there.
