>>9790351I read through the ijn carrier history osprey book and indeed akagi had no big work done during the war and kaga only the hull repair before midway, none of the others mention any noteworthy changes before midway (not sure what the authors consider noteworthy or not). So I would say that only changes before midway where the tactical markings (big ass hinomaru) and plane configuration. I'm not sure if I can/should share pdfs of books but what matters I already wrote here but if really, really needed someone may drop some links ;^)
Anyway here's a very good site for ijn references that should be added to the op:
http://combinedfleet.com/kaigun.htmJust go to carriers tab and check.

>>9791127>>9791137The "problem" with tamiya is what we get as filthy gaijins and the company in general.
The scale model division is in a weird situation, they basically aren't the main money makers for tamiya and they do kits that mr tamiya finds interesting on a personal level so no trend chasing. Arguably they are still trend setters or at least do such good job in general that they can stand on the side and do perfectly fine. They have a very old school approach and treat accessories in general in a very premium way, tamiya simple ass PE is superbly overpriced even in japan compared to a big as set from voyager model for what you get for example.
Second and more important to us is that the kits go for a premium outside of japan, if you look at the box next to the id number there's another one and that is the retail price in yens for japan. Fujimi does this too, pic related, and probably others do too.
That price is usually around 4k yen and that's not counting sales or
amazon.jp lower prices. What do we get? a kit that costs 36€ RETAIL for like 56€. At japan prices tamiya kits are a banger and you can splurge in aftermarket should you want to, at gaijin prices things get a bit more hard to justify with the available alternatives
