I always liked Babylon 5 designs more, because they follow that bare minimum design. You build what you need, based on your level of tech.
It was neat seeing how other aliens built their ships, but the more high tech they were the more elaborate the designs.
It was refreshing to see humans not being the top dogs, muchless the good guys.
