Something I didn't do before was sand off the original paint. Also, I now know that it is a resin figure, for whatever that's worth. His paint is also not as consistent as I would prefer, specifically the thing that bothers me is that when you run a fingernail really hard over the paint, it can scratch off a little. It's not gummy, but it comes off with medium effort. I wonder if anyone here can help me with my next attempt to ensure that the paint is as resilient as it was on the base figure, because I can not chip any of that off if I try. Any tips? Also, ideas for a display or diorama for him would be awesome. I am considering searching for a big red marble to serve as the orb the end-level boss drops upon death.
