The 1.0s were the worst, easy. Anyone who thinks the paint on these figures was "good" either never owned them, or is remembering them wrong. The problem is that the old figures had way too much paint, and it looked akin to shitty, blurry, smudgy airbrush art. The problem is that Bandai rarely met a happy medium between the 1.0 era (absolutely retarded over the top shading) and the 2.0 era (literally no shading at all, or as the early figures had the "Pee pants" look, where the only shading was a dark spot on their crotch.)
The 1.0 figures were just horribly designed, in retrospect. The knees were ugly as shit, the hips were ugly and loose as shit, the faces were actually offensively bad. Figures like Scouter Vegeta, most people couldn't even pose or display because the legs wouldn't even stay on the figure.
Anyone who thinks FPSS Goku or Kefla, or any recent figure is worse than these guys is a clown. The only figures that sort of hold up are OG Broly (who does still have plenty of issues) and 17 and 18. About the only outstanding thing you can say about this era is that figures like Trunks and Final Form Frieza came with assloads of accessories. But a lot of 1.0s didn't come with shit for accessories either.
SS3 Goku 1.0 is the worst figure this line has ever produced, by a country mile. The only good thing you can say about him is that he came with those big energy effect parts from that very first panel we see him. Outside of that, he comes with literally one alternate face plate and like 7 hands. AND the figure looks like absolute shit.
