I think in one of his collection videos he mentioned what you said that he got into it back then, like shortly after the Bandai Creations went away (~2013 ish). Around when King Caesar in the Bandai Creation line came out was when I started collecting them myself.
Speaking of Bandai Creations, I still consider the (pic related, not my pic though) Bandai Creations 1954 Godzilla my favorite vinyl iteration of him. Something about the slimmed body mold really makes me like him.
