The tune will change eventually. I mean, for all intents and purposes, Spikor is the vintage toy's design, as is Man-at-Arms, and some other upcoming figures like Stinkor. If there's still a problem then, well, like you said, it's just some sort of bias (unless the figures turn out really badly, which I'm not expecting).
