Just saying that body changes without personality/identity changes aren't uncommon in Transformers. I started with Beast Wars, so Armada Hot Shot being Energon and then Cybertron Hot Shot seemed like no big deal to me. G2 already had stuff like explaining Optimus being able to just change bodies on the fly.
I'd love to ask Aaron Archer about his design ideas through the UT because there's a lot of visual storytelling in those designs(which is something he's said he likes to incorporate). Like how Cybertron Megatron's armor is meant to look like its made out of Unicron parts.
