>>9296243Why does everyone always say this, its not true. I don't want to sound like a shill but I feel crazy when people tell me this, wtf are you guys ordering that the prices are so different? I'm convinced everyone here just orders and builds the same ancient Tamiya kits over and over because those are the only ones I can find a huge price discrepancy over.
For example, the last thing I ordered from sprue brothers was a Trumpeter 1/35 BMD-4.
In total it was:
Spruebrothers - $64.98 USD and I will get it in 4 days with the cheapo shipping. I ordered it yesterday and it shipped this morning.
Lets compare it to other US stores:
Kitlinx is the one most frequently recommended on here and I have no idea why, their processing time is awful and the prices are always high on everything - $68.82 (1 weeks processing time)
1001hobbies - $65.99 (1-2 weeks processing time)
megahobby - $69.41 (not even in stock)
hobbylinc - $64.11 (not in stock, from my personal experience they take nearly 2 weeks to ship shit out to you + 1 week transit time despite being on the east coast so I rarely order from them)
Lets import it from Japan, where with the cheapest shipping I'll get it in a few months:
hlj - $61.83 (without shipping)
hobbysearch - $63.98 (without shipping)
Ok lets order from Europe with the cheapest shipping, which has transit time comparable to Asia, aka 3-4 months:
dersockelshop.de - $94.76 (DHL only)
hobbylandbg - $79.17
super-hobby - 63.15$ (also good price, love super-hobby but the cheapo shipping takes 4 months at minimum, I've had shit take 6 months to get here.)
And then of course, you are correct that buying from eBay Chinese sellers will always be the cheapest:
Ebay - $54.60, at the cost if it taking 3-4 months or more to show up.
It's not worth it to me since I build 1-2 models a week and need to keep them coming, you guys ARE actually building your models and not just impulse buying them and piling them in a huge backlog right?
