>>9601566Funny enough, it's actually capitalistic to label them as boy and girl toys, because they net more sales by defining who the toys are meant for.
Companies have played around with this shit for ages, and quickly found out that people like labels, hence making it easier for someone to find or choose a toy that they are actually interested in.
It's like labeling shit sci fi, action, comedy, ect etc.
Who would want to go through a book or video store if everything was just mixed up? Would take you ages to find what you want or what you're in the mood for.
Same shit with boys/girls toys, where a parent or friend can at a glance tell who the toy is meant for.
Boys and girls both are clearly divided in their interests too, especially boys. Most boys will gravitate toward toys we think of as boys from the minute they can see. Studies have been done just by having babies and toddlers looking at pictures and boys generally focus at the toys that boys have historically liked. Girls do too, but they can have some interest in boy toys too.
So when buying a gift for a kid, people need to be shown which are girl and boy toys, or else you end up with a forced smile and knowing the kid will never touch your gift again, leaving it forgotten at the bottom of his toy box. If your toy isn't clearly labeled or in the correct aisle, it's going to be passed over much more.
Anyone have the gif for pic? I seem to ahve misplaced mine.
