>>8959584>>8959575In my opinion the hierarchy of joints is as follows.
1. Head and shoulders. Most basic, what all sofubi should have if their sculps allow.
2. Wrists and Waist. Moving hands can allow for holding things, changing the nature of what an arm pose means, etc. Waist allows for some extra dynamic freedom in terms of how the body is posed.
3. Ankles and hips. Nice but often not very functional. Ankles are actually better in my opinion than hips, in most cases.
4. Other articulation. For example the "Robopunch" has articulated elbows and the "Boss Charged" has an articulated trunk. Usually gimmicky or very sculpt dependent.
One thing that I think really needs to be explored more is the use of ball joints. Few, the the Mushi queen and Gyawo already use them. See image. But they would be a relatively simple method of greatly increasing possibility. The issue of course being that they add all sorts of new engineering and manufacturing hurdles. Still, I think it would be easier than the madness of that iron samurai with its gylos like hinge joint setup.
