>>11373661hm, if we dial back to 2000 when I was a kid when the Technic line was the most active, there were some interesting fantasy lines, like those living bikes with the wheel shooter function.
There was also the line that had posable technic "mini"figures to sit in them, but that posed the challenge of designing each set that had those figures in the same scale.
Later lego decided to make themes like these their own subthemes even inside technic, thats how we got Bionicle.
Eventually this sucked more originality out of the generic Technic line as original subtheme-like ideas would first need to be approved to launch a whole line instead of just be thrown in.
There are still some cool non-licensed car sets, like this race buggy's color and build is something I might actually pick up.
But you won't see suddenly some robot airplane transformer thing, which is really sad, but this is what they gauged technic fans to be interested in.
Kids don't like technic, but love big robots and fighting
Adult fans don't care for fighting and playability, they buy technic sets for display.
