Shut up about doll skin colors, both sides. Some lines have mostly pale dolls, some have mostly darker-skinned dolls and there’s nothing wrong with either. Maybe this is why Monster High was able to sidestep this bullshit, only a handful of characters even had human skin color. (The 4 Wolf siblings, the 2 DeNile sisters, Headmistress Bloodgood, Deuce and Jackson) that’s 9 out of 70 characters released as dolls. And of those 9 human-colored characters 3 are white, 4 are black, and 2 are brown (fuck off Hoteps, Ancient Egyptians weren’t black), seems like a decent ratio to me.
If we’re going by US ethnic demographics around 13% of a doll line should be black, and it’s only a little more than that globally.
Asians and Latinos are proportionally under-represented in media as well as toys, but nobody seems to complain about that as much as black representation.
