I feel that this is where Bandai dropped the ball.
Bandai said that there is 3 gold plated layers, then 2 metalic sputtered layers (dull gold and the gun metal). They lied.
I know it, from the early previews of the kit I saw in person, the parts from the 2 G runners are gold plated like the MG Hyaku Shiki v2 gold plating. but in the end, it was just a puke gold colored plastic.
nevertheless, the gold parts still really elevated the kit above the normal MG
